Modernize the Website: Redesign the website to reflect Purschwarz's brand identity and values.

Creating online shop with products and variations on shopify using different tools like metafields, theme building and branding while creating pages and collections.

Redesigning the Purschwarz Kaffeerösterei website was a multifaceted project that went beyond aesthetic choices — it was about aligning the digital experience with the values and ambitions of a modern specialty coffee brand.


Brand-Driven Storytelling

To bring the essence of Purschwarz into the digital realm, I designed with storytelling in mind. The layout, typography, and photography choices reflected the brand’s core identity — artisanal, bold, and transparent. For instance:

  • We highlighted the origins of the coffee beans, direct trade relationships, and precision roasting through dedicated narrative sections.

  • Visuals of the roastery and farm-level imagery added credibility and emotional connection.

The design process focused on converting brand story into interaction, aesthetics into performance, and content into conversions.

Modular, Scalable Design System

Given that Purschwarz is a growing D2C brand, I built a modular design system within Shopify’s framework that is both visually consistent and operationally scalable. This included:

  • Reusable content blocks for storytelling, reviews, brewing guides, and product showcases.

  • Easily adaptable components (e.g. banner formats, CTA placements, color overlays) that empower the team to create campaigns or landing pages without a full redesign.


User-Centric Navigation

I designed the information architecture to minimize cognitive load and maximize clarity:

  • Clean top-level navigation with defined paths for Shop, Roastery, Coffee Knowledge, and Courses.

  • Breadcrumbs and filtered product views to support intuitive exploration.

  • UX best practices for product pages — including flavor notes, grind options, preparation methods, and delivery info — to aid decision-making.
